In celebration of James Webb’s first year in operation, NASA released this close-up image of Rho Ophiuchi, the closest star-forming region to Earth.
About 50 young stars, similar in mass to our own Sun, are seen in various stages of development.
Revealed in the intricate textures and colors are interstellar dusts, protostars, and stellar newborns.
