Last View of the Telescope
Last View of the Telescope
After 20 years of development, the James Webb Space Telescope was finally launched on December 25th, 2021.
This last photo of the telescope was taken just after deploying from the Ariane 5 rocket that safely carried it into space.
From this point, the Webb began its month-long journey of nearly 1 million miles, to the gravitationally stable area known as Lagrange Point 2 (L2), where it was “parked” and now operates from.
